10th December 2023
Well, we love a busy week at Swansfield and last week was certainly that!
Thank you to the whole school community for sharing your views about Swansfield with Ofsted. I’d like to say a particular thank you to the children who spoke eloquently about school life and staff who all worked so hard. We will be able to share Ofsted’s report with you in the new year.
For now, we’re looking forward to getting back to our Christmas celebrations.
Let’s begin with our Reception - Year 2 children who will have their dress rehearsal for A Magical Christmas Journey tomorrow morning at 09.30 (families with pre-school children are welcome to attend). Their first performance will be at 13.45 on Tuesday 12th December with another performance on Wednesday 13th December at 09.45.
LKS2 (Years 3 and 4) will have their dress rehearsal on Tuesday 12th December at 09.30 (families with pre-school children are welcome to attend). This is a change to the day and time published last week due to lost rehearsal time last week. Their first performance of Cinderella Rockerfella is at 13.45 on Wednesday 13th December with another performance at 18.00 on Thursday 14th December. Please can we ask children to return to school ahead of their evening performance at 17.45.
Don’t forget to bring along some loose change to the performances as our FOSP will be selling raffle tickets.
In further dates to note, in the final week of term:
- Cherry and Apple Class songs around the Christmas Tree will be on Monday 18th December at 10.00 on Tuesday 19th December at 13.45
- Wednesday 20th December is Christmas lunch and Christmas party day! The children are invited to come to school in their party clothes. Please ensure that they are suitable for outdoor play!
- Thursday 21st December, Years 5 and 6 will lead our Christingle at St Paul’s Church. This will be at 13.45. Children from Years 1 - 6 will attend and all families are welcome to come along to share this special time with us.
- Friday 22nd December, we break up at 15.00
We had lots of stars of the week last week - here are some names of those who will be receiving certificates in our achievement assemblies throughout the week: Tommy Tafel, Rowan Horsburgh, William Green, Rudy Mather, Leah Charlton, Seb Metcalf and Nathan Doherty. Well done, we are very proud of you all!
Our music this week comes from

Can you hear the hooves of the animals dashing through the snow?
See you in the week,
